On the Pulse… Marshall Dennehey’s Cleveland Office: Litigation in the Midwestern Tradition
Cleveland is known for the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, the Westside Market, the Metroparks, and beautiful Lake Erie and its crazy weather patterns. The city has great historical and political significance and is famous for its enthusiastic sports fans. Cleveland is also home to one of Marshall Dennehey’s two Ohio offices (the other is located in Cincinnati).
The Cleveland office opened in 2012 and is located on the historic, revitalized Public Square, overlooking Lake Erie. For the past six years, I have had the honor of being the managing attorney for this office, and I also chair the firm’s Affordable Care Act Practice Group and co-chair the Long-Term Care Liability Practice Group. Since joining the firm in 2013, I have watched the office grow and transition from a handful of attorneys primarily practicing casualty litigation to nine attorneys today. These attorneys are highly experienced not only in casualty cases but also in health care litigation and professional liability matters.
We are fortunate to have sophisticated and knowledgeable lawyers in our Health Care Department. I, along with Stacy Starcher, Jason Ferrante and Jillian Dinehart, have extensive trial experience in both the federal and state courts. Jason is also licensed to practice throughout the state of Kentucky. Our group is skilled in handling physician, hospital and nursing home defense matters, and we have achieved a number of arbitration and defense verdicts. We are proud of the fact that we successfully argued and attained the first positive opinion applying the Affordable Care Act to reduce future damages. We have also published peer-reviewed articles, spoken at many regional and national conferences, and are recognized for our contributions to the defense trial bar.
The office’s Professional Liability Department is led by Keith Hansbrough. Jillian Dinehart also handles matters in this area. Keith and Jillian bring years of experience representing public entities in civil rights matters, defending employers in employment practice matters, and handling complex appellate cases in federal and state courts.
When it comes to casualty litigation, David Fagnilli and Andrew Isakoff are the senior lawyers in this group, with extensive trial experience across the entire state. Supported by experienced associates, Nate Woodward and Antonia Carbone, these four attorneys have decades of combined experience defending all types of casualty litigation cases and have obtained a number of defense verdicts and summary judgment victories on behalf of their clients.
Making our office complete is our outstanding staff of paralegals, secretaries, office support and management. These individuals are the heart of our office and it is a pleasure to be part of such a remarkable team.
Marshall Dennehey has a home in Cleveland, where the culture and traditions of our firm integrate well with Midwestern style. We stand ready to assist you with all of your civil litigation needs. Come visit with us and experience our people, city and office!
