Mohamed N. Bakry Named President of The Lawyers Club of Philadelphia
Mohamed N. Bakry, shareholder in Marshall Dennehey’s Philadelphia office, has been named President of The Lawyers Club of Philadelphia. He has been a member of the club and served on its board since 2016.
The mission of The Lawyers Club of Philadelphia is to promote camaraderie among members of the bench and the bar in the Philadelphia area. It seeks to encourage civility and cordial relations between those who represent similar and differing interests, with emphasis on a common dedication to the profession. Prosecutors and defenders, plaintiff and defense attorneys, government counsel and all other licensed attorneys are welcome to membership.
Bakry is a member of the Casualty Department at Marshall Dennehey where he primarily defends clients in product liability, premises liability, and transportation litigation. He is also highly experienced in the area of asbestos litigation. As a former public defender, he additionally represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges.
Devoted to social justice and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, Bakry is an active member of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Diversity Committee and is Chair of its 2024 Diversity Seminar. He serves as Chair of the Board for Justice For Our Neighbors of the Delaware Valley, a non-profit organization that provides legal services to immigrants and refugees in the Greater Philadelphia area. He also is a member of Marshall Dennehey’s DE&I Committee.
Among his additional professional activities, he is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.
A graduate of Rutgers University, he earned his J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
