Lucinda E.C. James

Associate

Lucy is a member of the Casualty Department, where she represents clients in general liability, premises liability, NY Labor Law 240, and automobile litigation. Her clientele includes property owners, maintenance firms, construction contractors, and transportation companies. Lucy frequently collaborates with experts and investigators to build robust defenses for her clients.

Additionally, Lucy is part of our Special Investigation practice group and has extensive experience defending cases where we assert allegations of fraud and exaggerated injuries against Plaintiffs. These fact-intensive cases involve fraud rings, staged accidents and exaggerated injuries, in addition to improper and fraudulent medical provider billing and reporting.

Lucy earned her juris doctor from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law in 2017, where she was a John Marshall Scholar and a Justice on the Honor Council. She completed a B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in Philosophy at Muhlenberg College, graduating a semester early.

Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Lucy began her practice in the Brooklyn Housing Unit at The Legal Aid Society, where she represented low-income tenants in Brooklyn Housing Court. Over her four years at The Legal Aid Society, Lucy handled hundreds of Housing Court cases and gained extensive litigation experience.

Lucy is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
