Timothy J. Valdez

Special Counsel

    Tim is a Special Counsel in the firm’s Casualty Department with a concentration in the practice of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) litigation. Tim has over 20 years' experience in the area of PIP litigation and insurance coverage, regularly appearing before the courts and administrative bodies in both New Jersey and New York.  

    Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Tim represented insurance companies as in-house counsel and medical providers as a claimant’s attorney. As in-house counsel, Tim was involved with medical provider fraud and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) litigations, conducting numerous Examinations Under Oath on their behalf.  In addition, Tim is an experienced litigator with several trials conducted in New Jersey and New York. One of his trials was published in the New York Law Journal as a Decision of Interest and set an early precedent for the interpretation of racing exclusions in insurance policies.

    Tim received his juris doctor from New York Law School in 2002 and graduated at the top 25 percent of his class.
